Director Hire

Pre - Production
Building a Vision
When working on a film as a director, the first thing to focus on is building a vision from reading the script multiple times. This will give me a great first look at what I want the film to look like and feel like.
Visualising the Script
While working on the script I will simultaneously visualise the story. Therefore I will be in communication with DoP to discuss blocking, lighting, shots and framing.
It is also a great opportunity for thinking about a potential cast.
Working on the Script
Throughout the pre-production, I will refine the script in collaboration with the writer to potentially enhance the story, make the dialogues sound as natural as possible and in some instances cut or add scenes.
How much a script will change varies with each script and project.
Casting
When it comes to casting it is essential to find actors and actresses who fit the characters not only visually, but also give them a unique feel and have a great chemistry with their co-stars. Therefore, I will oversee the whole casting process to ensure that we find the perfect cast.
Production
Directing
As the director, I will be in constant communication with the different departments but I will mainly focus on working with the cast to get their best performance out of them and ensure they know the scene including dialogue and blocking.
Making Decisions
I can ensure that I will always make quick but thoroughly thought-through decisions to ensure the best quality for the film.
These decisions include lighting, framing, blocking or the cutting and adding of shots if time runs out or even better, if we have time for one more take.
Communicating
Communication is the biggest part of making a film. Therefore, I can ensure that my communication is quick but thorough to avoid misunderstandings among the departments.
Post - Production
Edit
Once we successfully finish production and start post-production, I will sit with the editor to collaborate with him and visually complete the film according to the vision. The creative process in the edit is a very special one and I'm always open and happy to discuss any possibilities with the editor.
Color Grade
Throughout the colour grading, I will inform the Colour Grader about the vision, and overall look of the film and ensure that we get the best quality out of the footage by working together creatively.
Sound Edit
During the sound edit as well as collaboration with a composer (if applicable) I will work hard to ensure that the soundtrack as well as sound effects are on point and fit perfectly for the film to bring out its full potential.
