Pre - Production
Script Breakdown
I will create and provide a detailed script breakdown which lists every element that is important for your film. This ranges from props over costumes to vehicles and livestock.
Keeping Track of Script Drafts
During pre-production, I will also keep track of the script drafts and mark all changes that were made up until the final draft.
This will also help me adjust the Script Breakdown.
Studying Shot List
I will also study the shot list and storyboard very meticulously to be as familiar as possible with the order of the shoot for each day.
I will have it down to a science!
Production
Physical Continuity
I will track the continuity of movements, action props, costumes, make-up and the production design and will flag any changes or mistakes according to story days and scenes. I will also take pictures of the set throughout the filming of every scene to catch any changes. All of this will be noted in the Production Report (Continuity Log Sheet).
Timing Shots
Every take will be timed by me with a stopwatch and noted in the Production Report (Continuity Log Sheet). This will give you a great idea of how long your film will be when starting post-production.
Dialogue Continuity
I will track the spoken dialogue and its continuity on every take according to the script as well as when in a sentence an action occurs. If changes are made and discussed with the director I will make note of those changes in the Production Report (Continuity Log Sheet) and the script.
Production Reports
Throughout the whole shoot, I will note and collect all the data mentioned in the previous points in the Production Report (Continuity Log Sheet). It will be provided to you for post-production. and will help you find the best takes as quickly as possible.
